Text Box: Impy Dark
Summary

Brampton Brewery finally succumbed to take-over in 1955.  Warwicks and Richardsons of Newark purchased Brampton and it’s estate of pubs and promptly closed the brewery down.  Throughout the estate of Brampton houses there was uproar over the disappearance of the much-loved Brampton Mild.  Such was the furore that Warwicks took the un-precedented step of launching a brand new beer aimed and marketed  specifically to quench this particular thirst.  They launched “IMPY”, which was unashamedly marketed as the Brampton Mild recipe, but without the Brampton water (which they couldn’t use) and without the Brampton yeast (which they wouldn’t use).  We can’t get hold of the Brampton Mild recipe, and the yeast is long gone, but we are using Brampton water.  Therefore as a mark of respect to the much loved and fondly remembered Brampton Mild, our interpretation will only bear the Impy name.

Look out for the pump-clip.

Packed to the gunwales with roasted coffee and chocolate aroma and flavours.  Delicately hopped, Impy Dark is just how a mild should be.
